PhotoGallery in FP2003 not saving - says need "FP based website"?

Hi - I upgraded a trial version of FP 2003 from my company's version of Front
Page 2000. I have added a photo gallery to one of the pages and when I try to
save it I keep getting the pop-up "To save this page and photo gallery, open
a Front Page based web site, and save the page on that site."
I don't understand why I can't just save it as I've been saving all my other
web pages on Front Page without problem. I'm hooked up to the internet. What
does a "Front Page based web site" mean? And if - assuming I ever figure out
what this means - can finally save the page with the Photo Gallery, will
others be able to view the page if they don't have a "Front Page based web
site"?
I'd really really appreciate someone's help!!!! Thank you so much to anyone
who could please help me with this. (The site is for my job, not my own
construction.)

It means exactly what it says - you have to create the gallery within a
FrontPage web/site. NOT as a separate (loose) page.

Open FP
Open Web/Site
Create a page for your gallery
Create a gallery on that page
Save
Publish Web/Site
etc....

No a viewer does not need FP to view a gallery, although FP generated
gallerys (the slide show one) will not display correctly in all browsers.

Open FrontPage.
File->Open Web and browse to the folder holding your web files. If
your web is on the internet, then type in the URL in the form
http://example.com or http://www.example.com
Then edit the gallery page.

You should always open a web before opening a page.

Viewers of your website do not need FrontPage, and will have no
problems viewing the gallery (unless they use Firefox and your gallery
uses the slide-show format).
