I have no idea how a photo (that my wife does not approve
of) ended up showing up for several seconds during the
boot-up and shut down routines (after I log in). I
manipulated an image (using Adobe Photoshop) that I sent
to my home computer via e-mail from work and made it into
the windows desktop background. I removed it as the
background and replaced it another background image but
the same image keeps showing up during the start-up and
shut-down routines AND after I press CTRL ALT DLT and the
task manager pops up the image pops up behind it. How do
I get rid of this image?

I had this issue at work with one our users. Goto you
Display Properties/Background. View each background until
you find the offensive one. Note the name of it in the
list, then search the hard drive for that name. When you
find it, delete it and reboot. The picture should no
longer be there.

All that u have to do IF u wana keep this image on file is go to your
DISPLAY SETINGS...
1->RIGTH CLICK ON ANY DESKTOP BACKGROUND

2->PROPERTIES

3->Choose the PIC u wana be instead of the X PIC is Showing now, then choose
the PICTURE DISPLAY Option, THEN click APPLY... thats it FROM NOW ON the PIC
showing when SHUT DOWN or REBOOT will be the one U APPLY + U can put Over it
another PIC as BACKGROUND and the PIC U APPLY will show as the X PIC is
doing it rigth now... BY THE WAY U DONT EVEN HAVE TO RE-BOOT UR PC...

Hope u GOT IT...
