Phone number format

My auto display of phone numbers seems to have suddenly changed. When I type
in 10 digits (no dashes, no spaces etc. jsut the 10 digits, nothing else)
contacts used to display it like this automatically: (555) 555-5555. Now it
displays it like this: 5555555555, without putting in the parenthesis or the
space or the dash. Does anyone know where this setting is and/or how I can
fix it?
