Hi all,

I have a Philips 150S4 LCD Monitor. A few days ago, i set up my system
for dual boot (one MS Windows XP and one Ubuntu Linux, if that's
relevant).

Previously, when i used only one OS, after i installed the OS, i had to
"adjust" the horizontal and vertical of the monitor (automatically of
course, using the "Auto" button on the monitor), so that whatever is
supposed to be visible is visible. i.e. nothing hidden beyond the top,
bottom, left or right boundaries of the monitor.

But i only had to do this once (unless i format and re-install the OS).

Now with dual boot, i have to do this adjustment everytime i boot up
with the other OS.

Anyone has any workaround to overcome this?

TIA and Regards,
Edwin

If the problem is in Linux, then there is a simple configuration edit
that will set the monitor properties permanently. You should take this
to a Ubunto-specific forum or try Linux Newbies
http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ I know just enough about Linux to destroy
your install!

Thing is... i don't think its a Linux problem per se... more of a
problem caused by dual-booting...

i.e. if i only use XP, no problem, only have to adjust once. Same goes
if i only use Linux. Problem comes when i had already adjusted the
monitor for XP, then when i next boot to Linux i have to adjust again,
and if i had already adjusted for Linux, when i next boot to XP i have
to adjust too.

Edwin
