I left my computer on for a whole day once and when i came back, it had not
gone into the hibernation mode as expected. I didn't know why because i set
it up so that in 3 hours, it would go into hibernation. As a result, for the
next few days i watched it and found out that every 15 minutes this window
would pop up in the taskbar for 2 seconds and dissapear, disrupting the
process of going into the standby and then hibernation mode. I have no idea
why ths "phantom" window keeps opening up. I even tried disconnecting the
internet just in case my computer was trying to gather something from the
internet. If someone knows what's happening to my computer, please help me.
thanks

Sounds like a key logger. I had one few months ago and my ATM card was
compromised.
I scanned with all known programs. No luck. I reformatted my whole computer
to kill it.
That was the way I fixed it. Maybe you'll have better luck. I know I will
never ignore it again!
It would even knock my screen saver off and boot me out of games. If I
opened task manager
It wouldn't run........But as soon as I closed it, BINGO!

Could it be a dial up connection "keep alive" program. My version of Norton
System works still has a version although its off in my case.
