personal.xls disappears

I had some macros stored in personal.xls and personal.xls
completely disappeared from my computer --- it is no
longer found in the xlstart folder, nor can it be found
through a search on the hard drive. (Hidden files are
configured to be shown.)

This happened in two cases:
1. after hiding and unhiding the personal.xls several
times.
2. after looking at code in the VB Editor, and closing out
of VB Editor.

Any ideas on what happened? or how it can be avoided in
the future? Thanks!
 
Hi!

I suspect that with all you playing around, at some time you deleted
it. But funny that it doesn't show up in your recycle bin.

How to prevent in the future? You can't prevent human error (without a
gun). But you can allow for it by backing up your Personal.xls
frequently. Which reminds me....
