I did something and now I get a Personal Workbook as
soon as I open Excel. How do I stop it! Everything works
if I close it as soon as it opens, so I don't need it

Your personal workbook is stored in your xlstart folder, so will always open
at startup. Usually, however, it is hidden. Next time you open Excel,
instead of closing the file, go to Windows/Hide.

I deleted mine from xlstart, as it did not have anything of use in it. (I
keep my macros etc in an xla file.) You could try the same. better still,
move it somewhere else, just in case there was something useful in it and
you want to get it back again.
