I have just been updating a computer belonging to a member of my family,
running XP Home and using Office 2000. The Outlook email worked fine before
the updates I put on, but after installing SP 3 for Office 2000, the personal
folder file used for the Inbox has become password-protected and cannot be
used (I had to create a new folder file for the Inbox). I have tried all
possible passwords associated with the PC but without success and besides,
there was no password associated with the file before the upgrade anyway.
Does anybody know of any other instance of an Office service pack install
causing this kind of problem and how I can resolve it? Any help would be
gratefully received, as the pst file that has been locked contains a lot of
important information.
