Pls send us those files that our AV got stuck on. You can submit it to
us thru the submit functionality. It will help us and everyone using
this product so much for you to report this so that we can improve it
for everyone.

thanks

in a true Comodo Fashion, we will keep improving and improving ;-)
We already started the work on the next version of the AV which will be
much better the current one and leaner in mem usage :)

Keep supporting us by telling us how we can improve pls.

thanks
Melih

Melih, it looks like your work is progressing nicely. The AV really
does need a major ram usage reduction though. Some of the best AVs now
(Nod32 for example) get along fine using only about 16mb ram. Sometimes
a little less even. Avast is also pretty light. AVG is light as well
if you exclude the generic email scanner. If you can get ram usage way
down that would be excellent. That plus improve the detection rates. I
have read at Wilders forum where detection is quite a bit poorer than
most others, but since this is only version 1.0 I suppose improvement is
coming.

Several initial scans hung while going thru folders with significantly
large zipped files. No activity observed on the harddrive for an
extended period of time so I suspect it is an issue with file size.
Problem was sporadic having processed a folder one time then not the
next time.

Most definitely, we are already working on reducing the mem usage on
the next version. The detection rate is being increased on daily basis
and adding new unpackers regularly. Things can only get better with
Comodo Anti Virus with our users help.
So please keep the feedback flowing..

thanks

Sure, which Airport :)

I know this has been discussed recently but... I have use ZoneAlarm
for
many years and have found it to work very well. The only "problem" I
have with it, is that it uses a lot of memory (vsmon.exe). I
uninstalled it and ran Outpost for a few minutes. I must have had it
configured wrongly, because my browser had difficulty opening a
webpage. I temporarily disabled Outpost, and the browser worked fine.
I enabled Outpost and the browser worked, but only because I already
had it open and functioning.

Is there a good free "lightweight" firewall title? I've heard of
Sygate, but will it "hog" resources as ZoneAlarm did? Also, does
anyone have it and be able to post it to a binaries group or email it
to me? Remove Zoom Zoom from the address. Thanks for any help.

The older freeware Kerio version 2.1.5 is excellent and free of the
bloat in later versions. It can be had through Last Freeware site:

Here is some extra food for thought, extract from link below.

It's time to toss out your antivirus software

Every third party firewall product such as ZoneAlarm and Kerio have
exposed the very users they're suppose to protect to complete system
level compromise.
Ironically the built in Windows XP SP2 firewall which always gets
unfairly picked on has never had any remote exploits. Sure it doesn't
provide any outbound packet filtering which is only relevant if my
computer is already owned in which case any firewall could be disabled
anyways, but at least it doesn't leave me wide open to a remote
attacker.
Is the XP SP2 firewall getting a raw deal?

Kerio is nice and light, but has known vulnerabilities, is not user
friendly, and I had a problem with it that quickly caused me to drop
it. When it asks if you want to permit a packet through it gives only
an IP address, and its not possible to find out what the address is by
typing it into browser, since its blocked until you permit it. So you
have to permit everything once to find out what it is before you can
block it. Also IIRC it doesnt run in stealth mode. All said, a definite
thumbs down here.

ZA is fat but you get to keep your data.

If you want to check a blocked IP, then either use Sam Spade (the
program), or go to http://www.dnsstuff.com and enter it (copy) in the
"WhoIs" field and click "Go"; the information you get from that query
should tell you whether or not to permit it.

As for basics: It is the job of a firewall to block traffic until told to
do otherwise.
