Personal Finances

I went to the Microsoft Templates page to see if there is a database
template for tracking and reporting on personal finances, but there is
nothing good, does anyone have one, or know where I can download a good
database for this?

You may be better off using something like MS Money (which, you may be
interest to know, actually uses a Jet Database).

Are you committed to a database as opposed to a spreadsheet?

Depending on how much info you want, a simple table in Excel could help you.

I would imagine a data table in Excel with the following columns:

Month| Date | TransactionCategory |Transaction Description |Transaction
Amount |Balance

This would allow you to run monthly pivot tables and expenses by categories.
Which is essentially what a db (or MS Money) would do, without all the
headache of setting up table relationships, etc.

I have built a system for monitoring ,in MS Access,of my finances. If you
like I can send you a copy.

I have been using it for a year now - trust me it's a godsend!
