Permissions problem on specific computers

I have set up a test folder with the following ntfs
permissions:

Administrators: full control
Creator Owner: full control
Domain Users: read & execute, list folder contents, read,
write

The folder is shared with Domain Users, full control. All
users are part of the Domain Users group and all files in
the test folder are created by one user.

7 XP workstations out of 32 are not able to make changes
to the files and save it. This problem is computer
specific, as when a user using a workstation that isn't
working properly logs in at a workstation that is working
properly, they are able to make changes to the files and
save it.

Is there something in the installation or local settings
that would cause this behavior?

There could be a problem with security options. On one of the problem computers
examine the security options under Local Security Policy/security settings/local
policies/security options. There are four options for Microsoft network client/server
for digitally sign communications. Make sure those settings match one of the XP
computers that is not having the problem. Those security options are for SMB
igning. --- Steve
