Can I set up a network share on my main computer and only allow certain users
on my other two computers access to this share?
Set up: 2 desktops running windows XP Pro and one lap top running windows XP
home. The primary desktop is cabled directly to my wireless router. The 2nd
desktop and the laptop are wireless. My home network is set up as a work
group, not as a domain.
All 5 members of my family have an account on each computer. I'd like to be
able to share my own "my documents" folder on PC1 with my own user accounts
on the other two computers. However, I don't want my kids to be able to get
into this share.
I've tried turning off simple file sharing which allows me to more finely
control all network users permissions but is doesn't allow me to define
permissions for specifc network users.
Do I have to set up a domain to accomplish this? Is there a way to do it
using profiles?
Any suggestions?
