Permanent Delete and sounds

Is there any way to disable the sounds when I have junk email permanently
deleted? The sound plays, the envelope icon appears in the tray, but of
course there isn't any email. I actually have to open an email in the inbox
to get the icon to disappear too.

i think i just answered this for someone else in a slightly different
context. basically, turn off the automatic notification and add rules that
play sounds for mail you want and maybe moves it to specific sub folders...
so you only get beeped when its mail you want and it gets sorted so you can
find it easier.
