Performance Problems

Jon

I just did a clean re-install of Windows XP Home Edition.
It was running fine before, but now the performance is
really bad: my browser takes a lot of time to load and
scrolling on pages is very slow. It used to work
perfectly fine before I did the re-installing.

P4 2.53ghz, 512mb DDR ram, GF4 TI4200 etc etc. So I'm
running a good comp but the performance is really awful.
Any ideas?

Why on earth did you reinstall? Depending on how you re-installed you may
have deleted every Windows update. If it worked fine what was the reason for
the re-install?

I did take out every Windows update. I think that's what
a clean install is, no? I had virus on my computer, so I
just re-installed Windows XP. Now though, it says it
doesn't see my video card (when I try to install games,
it says I can't run them because I don't have a video
card...). And I have no clue how to fix that problem.
