Performance in the network

Hallo,

when I connect to the server and browse a folder on the server, the
performance ist very slow. What is on the configuration wrong and what have
I to do to optimize the perfomance.

How many nics in the server? Does the ipconfig/all from the clients show
that everything is pointing to the server-IP? What OS on the clients?
 
In the server are two nics. On the client I use the OS Windows 2000 and the
ipconfig /all shows the information
dhcp enabled = yes
autoconfiguration enabled = yes
ip-address
default gateway
DHCP server
dns server
primary wins server
 
Could you post the complete ipconfig please?
Anyway, check the bindingorder of your servernics (Network Connections,
advanced, advanced) and make sure the internal nic is on top.
