It's been so long since I went to school I have forgotten how to work out
percentages. Can anyone help?

part divided by whole
(and format as a percent)

so if you have 35 people total and 12 paid their dues, you could put:

35 in A1
12 in A2
and
=a2/a1
and format the cell as a percentage.

(You should end up with about 34% or 35%)

Hi,

I posted this to the wrong thread, so here goes again:

Hi,

5 is what percent of 13?

=5/13

then format as a percent - Format, Cells, Number tab, Percent or click the %
button on the toolbar.

A decimal can be converted to a percent by formatting in Excel. or on paper
by multiplying by 100. 0.05 = 100*(0.05) = 5%

In Excel you don't do both formatting and multiplying by 100, it depends on
what you actually need/want
