Percentage to work out bonuses and penalty's

Hello

I need an excel formula to work the following for bonuses/penalties

For example as a penalty

Cell A1 has the cost say £100
In cell A2 you input a percentage (i.e. 50 per cent)
Cell A3 outputs the answer as £50

In another chart I need it to do the opposite

For example as a bonus

Cell A1 has the cost say £100
In cell A2 you input a percentage (i.e. 50 per cent)
Cell A3 outputs the answer as £150

Can anybody help?
