Pending File Operations / Incomplete Installs

I keep receiving an error saying that there are pending
file operations or that and installation/uninstallation
is not complete when I try to install a couple of
different applications.

I have checked the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Sessio
n Manager for Pending File Operations and there are none
listed in there. Where else should I be looking to
eliminate the belief that there is some
install/uninstall/file operation pending?

Try the rest of these keys

1. Start regedit.exe.
2. Go to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Sessio
n Manager.
3. Double-click PendingFileRenameOperations, and remove
any entries.
Click OK.

4. Also check the following locations for any rename

operations:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersi
on\RunOnce
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersi
on\RunOnceEx
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersi
on\RunServicesOnce
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersio
n\RunOnce
5. Close regedit.
