Peer to Peer

I have 4 computers with XP Pro. I created peertopeer with the computers. I
can see three computers on the network places but not the fourth one. When I
try to access another PC from network places it asks me to enter and
password. I do not have password on the computer but somehow it insists I
should enter one.

Any idea why this is happening?

1. make sure you enable sharing on the computer.
2.Create an identical username and password on all computers.

Is this XP Pro with Simple File Sharing enabled, or disabled?

Look at "browstat status", "ipconfig /all", "net config server", and "net config
workstation", from each computer, and diagnose the problem. Read this article,
and linked articles, and follow instructions precisely (download browstat!):

Chuck,

Thanks for useful info but I did not understand that making file and folder
sharable will enable a computer to access another one. I am not trying to
access files or folders just basically trying to access the PC on the peer to
peer.

Hi
That the way it works you configure File Sharing and you get access.
BTW, if you do not want to share why do you need to Access the peer
computers?

John,

The purpose of accessing a PC is generally to access files and folders, and
those files and folders have to have been made shareable previously. Unless you
have another purpose that is.

You can't access stuff that hasn't been made shareable.

What are you trying to ultimately do?
