peer-to-peer

S

SNET

I had a simple hybrid peer-to-peer network with 6 PC's, and everything
worked well. I had the protocol set as follows: Client for MS Networks, File
and Print sharing, TCP/IP, Dial up adaptor and IPX/SPX. It was the only way
I could get all the pc's to see the security module on one pc that has the
MRP software. Anyway, I had to upgrade my pc to Win2k, the rest of the
machines are Win98. I did a full install. Now I can't get my network back! I
can see 3 of the 6 pcs' and it's real slow at finding those. I have set the
Workgroup the same as before...Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance...Rick

Do the other PCs have IPX? What frame type? You could force all PCs to the
same frame type.

Although it is being phased out, Netbeui is another option for you.

Because you cannot "see" them when browsing the network does not mean you
cannot reach them. PCs being slow to apear may be caused by IP broadcast,
which is slower.
