Here's the set up. One side I have my primary domain(192.168.1.X) with a
windows NT4 server. on the otherside I have a Peer2Peer network Windows XP
Pro(192.168.4.X). These sites are connected via Frame relay with Perle
Routers. When I travel to the remote site(4.X) with my laptop(Windows
XPP/SP2) how can I sign into my domain server on the local side(1.X)? Am I
missing a route? my internet traffic works fine and I can see and access
pc's on the local side. When I try to log onto the network it says "Domain
not Available". Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Jon -

Since IP addresses on the 192.168 network are not routable you'll have to
create a static route on the machine to access the domain. Opening a command
prompt window and typing 'route /?' will bring up a help screen.

But - if the workstation isn't on the same physical network segment as the
authenticating domain controller, I'm afraid you can't get there from here,
because as I mentioned earlier, 192.168 networks can't be routed to without
altering the routing table on every router between the source and target
machines.

good luck!
