Hi,

I'm having problems getting MS PDS 7.1 running under XP
Home. Has anyone else tried it.

Experience with DOS-based programs generally been good?

I've trieed both compatibility settings but they don't
seem to matter much.

QBX dies when loading certain source files... Very
strange.

Thanks.

Hi, Leland. I don't recognize the PDS program, but basically no
NT-kernel based operating systems (NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP) has
real DOS. XP has a DOS emulator which sometimes works well and
sometimes doesn't. You've already tried running in Compatibility Mode,
so probably your older DOS program isn't going to work in XP. Your
options are to 1) check with the program mftr. for an updated version;
2) if that doesn't exist, find a current program that is compatible
with XP and will do what you want; 3) keep an older machine around
running DOS for the program.

Cheers,

Malke
