Pdf'ing PowerPoint documents

Sam

Hi again

I just posted a question about the best file extensions to
use for logos in PPT presentations as my work takes ages
to print, pdf etc, part of my problem I'm pretty sure is
the size of the logos we've used,

However I also read somewhere about pdf'ing in PPT
increases file size - mine certainly seem to be pretty
large files once they finally finish pdfing.

Is there a standard way to pdf in PPT so that file size
isn't too big yet I can keep the quality of my logo.
Currently I print to acrobat distiller which gives a large
file size and reduces the quality of the logo which is
placed in the slide master.

Thanks very much
Sam

There's no guarantee that a PDF will be smaller than the file it was made from,
whether it's PPT, Word, Quark Excess or whatever. It depends on the contents
of the original file and on the Distiller (or other PDF-making program)
settings you use when making the PDF.

You probably need to adjust your Distiller settings then, and also look at what
else is in the PPT. If you use transparency or gradients, your PDF file sizes
will go through the roof.
