Try deleting it in Safe Mode. If that doesn't do it, try:

Windows Installer CleanUp Utility:

Did you download this because you needed an editor, or just a PDF viewer?
If the latter, Adobe and Foxit work fine. If you are having problems
opening pdf file attachments in Outlook Express, then you need to see
this.

Unable to open .PPS attachments directly from Outlook Express using XP/SP2
or XP/SP3:

Here's a suggestion taken from a web board found in response to a Google
search.

Do you still have this problem with Adobe 9 and downloading pdfs? I did
but found a very simple and easy fix which has worked for me. I use IE8.
In the Adobe menus choose Edit>Preferences>Internet and de-select
(remove x)the box marked "Display pdf in browser". I did this in both
programmes I have and it worked and I am now able to download pdfs
straight without having to right click and "save target as" which I
found very frustrating. It means that my pdfs open on the screen...as
they did before I upgraded to 9.
I hope that you had it re-solved before however this may help some other
frustrated soul.

Where are you trying to open them from? If e-mail, what e-mail program are
you using? Can you open them if you save them to your HDD first?

JB,

I have to ask, Adobe Reader is FREE. It reads (aka views) PDF files.
All Version Download: http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/

Of course it does not edit, but most PDF files are protected from
editing anyway, that's a main function of PDF file format, Copy Right
protection.
