Open the PDF in Acrobat (not the free reader)
Use the link tool to create an Open File link wherever you want the button to
appear.
Click Browse in the link properties dialog and point to your PPT file.
Switch back to the "hand" tool and click the link.
You'll get a warning message then the PPT file will launch.
