Every time I go to a site and try to open a form or a
folder, my computer freezes. I have gone to the microsoft
site and downloaded all updates.

Thank you

It may be an adobe reader problem
either check for updates, of the reader, or uninstall then reinstall the
reader.
Ensure any AV app is stopped whilst reinstalling, they can sometimes
interfer with an install.

Greetings --

Have you tried removing and reinstalling Adobe's Acrobat Reader?

Acrobat Reader, as a plugin, has been very buggy like that
for a while - with at least the Mozilla, FireFox/Firebird,
and IE 6.x browsers.

I just download the PDFs and view them with AcroRead.exe
instead of trying to view them in a browser with that
browser's plugin.

How long does it freeze for? My laptop appears to hang up while
getting all the bits together to show me .pdf files, but after maybe
30 seconds it all comes back to life. Walk away for 5 minutes and see
what it's doing when you come back...

[You do have plenty of free space on the drive you swap file is on,
yes?]

I have gone off for a very long time, but it still just
sits there. I have to go to the task manager to get it to
unfreeze. Yes, I have plenty of free space Thanks

Well, it was a thought. How did the "uninstall and reinstall" routine
go?

I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe. It worked. Thanks
