pdf files and Firefox

If I download pdf files with Firefox I find that I have to wait for the
file to download, at which point it stops, then cancel and press re-try, at
which point it downloads ok?
Just me or is it a known bug?

sounds like you need to uninstall and re install the plug-in. I had the
same problem but the reinstall fixed it.

I was wondering what I was going to do to resolve this problem. I
had updated Acrobat Reader and FireFox stopped reading PDF files. I
never did the reinstall thinking it would effect the updates. To my
surprise the updates were not effected. I just did the (repair
feature of Acrobat) and all is well now. Thanks.

I have found the only safe way to view the PDF file, without crashing
the browser, is to right-click on the link and save the file to disk.
You can then view without problems.

Whilst on the subject of pdf files.
Like most people Jim, I used Acrobat Reader, but recently found a bit of
software called
`Foxit pdfreader`. suggest you give it a try, knocks Acrobat sideways. (It`s
freeware)
best wishes..OJ

I don't use Acrobat; I use FOXit, but it works ok if I download using IE.
