Since installing SP 2, my Windows XP Pro system won't open an
Adobe PDF file in my IE browser. I get a small rectangle with a
red X in it and no more. Yet, I can right click on the link then
"Save as" to put the PDF file on my desktop, then open it later
and it works right. I have turned my ad-blocker off and tried
everything else I can think of. Any suggestions??

Gordon,

Is the Adobe Acrobat ActiveX control and Adobe BHO enabled? You can verify
this via "Manage Add-ons" option in Internet Explorer. Secondly, some users
have reported that reverting back to Adobe Acrobat Reader v5.x has resolved
the problem (in case you have v6.x installed).

Ramesh, I checked and see that Adobe Acrobat Control for Active X
is enabled. Also, ACRO IEHlprObjClass is activated, but I don't
know what its purpose is.

These are the only two Adobe Acrobat related functions that are
listed on the "Manager Add0ons" pane.
