pdf attachment still opened in orther program

Hi all,
A few weeks ago I received an email with a pdf attachment. I opened the
email and read the attachement. I closed the email without closing the
attachment first; resulting in a warning message: closing this mail may cause
data to be lost...I clicked OK and went on. No worries so far. After some
time (a few days) this same message reoccurred even when there was not any
document opened. Every half hour this requires me to click away this message
3 times....
I reinstalled adobe reader to the latest version and reinstalled office2007.
This seemed to resolve the issue, but no dice; after a few days the fantom
message returned.... (There is a attachment still open in another program....)
Do you recognize this situation or do you know a resolution?
Any help is enormously appreciated; getting deperate here..
TIA

Ho Kathleen,
Thanks for your reply.
I checked this and couldn't find acroreader in the tasklist. I'll check it
again at the precise moment the warning reoccurs. I'll post it when it does.

Hi Kathleen,
As promised; my latest findings: just a moment ago the warning reoccurred.
Checked taskmanager: no acroreader. Checked eventvwr (applog); there I found
an error which seems to have a relation to the warning message:
An error occurred while promoting a Microsoft CRM e-mail message. Restart
Microsoft Outlook and try again. HR=0x80131509. Context=.
Function=CMailItemHelper::HrPromoteMailItemInCrm. Line=1637.

I'll try to disable automatic promotion of messages to crm to see what
happens...

Keep you posted
