PCMCIA MTD-0002

I am inserting a pcmcia scsi card in my laptop. XP detects the card and says
it's a PCMCIA MTD-0002 and asks for a driver disk. It should recognise it as
an Adaptec card but doesn't. If I install the correct driver manually it
doesn't work. Anyone heard of this (and know the answer)?
