Hi,

I am thinking of buying a wi-fi card for my PC (DELL Dimension).
Running Vista 32 bit

D-Link DWL-G510 PCI Card looks good

Anyone any experience.

It has a low profile back plane, will it fit my case?

Thanks

Don't know about fitting the case, but... there is always the Wireless
Adapter USB solution.

However, if you intend to use this wireless connection for LAN access, I'd
advise against it unless absolutely necessary.  Compared to LAN speeds,
wireless will be a big disappointment in both speed and reliability.  When
it comes to a LAN, UTP is still king.  For Internet access, no issues with
wireless.

I will need to connect wirelessly ( I wont use the USB solution).

I am thinking of fitting a wf-fi card with an antenna that has a
cable. I believe that this will maximise my signal.

There will only be one floor between the router and the PCI antenna -
house- (signal through the wooden floor). I am expecting speed, etc to
be quite good).

Thanks
