PC stops working and tries to reboot

Help !
In certain applications (some games and SKYPE after a few minutes talk), my
PC will shut down and try to reboot but shows either the BSOD or options:
SAFE, SAFE WITH NETWORKING, ETC, after several attempts to get on this
message pops up after which i have to shut down the PC manually and wait
about 10 min. before turning back on and then it goes inot SAFE mode:
"Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
\WINDOWS\System32\config\SYSTEM"

Going crazy with this and restarting in the middle of doing something. Help
