Does anyone know how to make my PC sound go back to normal ..... it is
accelerated some how so it sounds like the Chipmunks are singing on my
PC..... Can anyone help me figure out this problem ..... I checked the sound
settings and couldn't find anything in there ......

You likly installed an incorrect driver for your sound card, maybe thru
Window Updates? Try opening Device Manager, and navigate to the sound
card, rclick it, then Properties, Driver, and Rollback driver.

I think i should have specified ...... i don't have speakers connected to the
PC ... I am usin the Internal speaker on the Computer ...... I checked that
trouble shootin website that "Byte" referenced and i did the steps but when i
got to the point where i should click on the performance tab ... i had no
performance tab ... is there any other way to get to that sound card hardware
acceleration ?

The speakers don't matter for this problem. You almost certainly just have
the wrong driver installed for your hardware.

Uninstall the card drivers, identify the card or chip, and install the
correct drivers.

Audit apps like Belarc Advisor can tell you what the chipset involved is, if
you have no other way of telling.
