My PC all of a sudden starts to shutdown after 30 to 40
minutes of use. I stopped the screen saver and adjusted
the Power settings to reflect "NEVER" mode. I can't
figure it out. Help?

We might be able to if you used a News Reader instead of the CDO Interface which hasn't shown the OP.

We might have if you had of used the wizzle instead of the
wupple. Are you always so anal retentive Willy? How about
giving these every day users some honest to goodness
advice in plain everyday language instead of using
indecipherable short forms or short forms that only those
with an advanced level of knowledge could comprehend. Keep
smiling.

go>start\control panel and double click administrative
tools. Now click the event viewer and double click the
application log and look for any red Xs in the right pane.
Now double click them to open a details screen and take a
look here. This may all be Greek to you but if you copy
some the infomation down like the event ID and so on and
post it back here we would have a better idea of the
direction you need to take to rectify this problem. Do
this with all three logs. You are looking for any red X
that corresponds to the time your machine shut down. Keep
smiling.

Sorry TUP - to elucidate (make clear):

"We might be able to if you used a News Reader instead of the CDO Interface which hasn't shown the OP."

CDO = Collaboration Data Objects

OP = Original Posting - self explanatory.

My 2 cents...

1st- are you sure it is not a hardware (memory or CPU) problem? I have
one similar problem when the CPU gets too hot.

A virus without a known signature may not be detected by your
favourite anti-virus program. If the behaviour is consistent then you
might like to check all your auto startups for any programs that you
do not think should be there. Talk to your favourite IT helpdesk
personnel or post the list up here (if you know where to get the
list). More likely, you have a rogue software installed without you
knowing.

Alternatively, to eliminate if it is a hardware problem, boot under a
different boot configuration (if you have one setup).
