PC restarts after shut down

I'm running a Dell Dimension XPS 850t with XP pro. After the last auto patch
from MS last week I've noticed that my system restarts after a shutdown. In
order to shut it off I must power down completely. I know there is a fix, but
I've not found it as yet. Any help would be gratefully appreciated...Thanks

Uninstall the patch.
