PC Locked

Hi For some unknown reason, my pc has decided that, if I leave it for about
10 minutes and then return to it, it shows a dialogue box which says, "Your
pc is locked, to unlock it" etc etc. There is a box that has my name in it,
and it says I must put in my password and click OK.
Well I dont have a password, as its only me who uses pc, so I just click ok
and off I go, but, it is getting so annoying.
I dont know if I have changed anything by mistake, but, is there any way I
can get rid of this annoying box.
Many thanks in advance

Try this:

1) Open Display in Control Panel.

2) On the Screen Saver tab under Screen saver, click a screen saver.
Select the On resume, password protect check box. Remove if checked.

3) If Fast User Switching is turned on, select the On resume, display
Welcome screen check box if you want it.

Hello,
I think what you're seeing is the screensaver password protect feature of
Windows XP. To disable this, you need to get into the Display Properties
screen. There are (at least) two ways to get there. Right click on an open
area of your desktop and click Properties, or go into Control Panel and
double click Display.

Go to the Screen Saver tab, and uncheck the "On resume, password protect" box.
Hope this helps!

Go to Control Panel.
Double click on Power Options.
Click on the Advanced tab.
Remove the check mark from the box next to "Prompt for password
when computer resumes from standby".

Good luck

Others told you how to disable it. The feature you're seeing is to prevent
others from accessing a PC that has been vacated from by the current user.
(Left the room etc.) Normally, a user has a name and a genuine password in
these instances.
