PC Connection, GPRS Connection - bit random?

While i'm in the question asking mood i have one more today.

We're using PocketPC on the Qtek 2020 handhelds.
We have a GPRS connection setup which works fine.

What's strange is this... some of the time if you put your handheld in the
cradle and click the gprs icon thing in the title bar, it says "GPRS
Connect", other times it says "PC Connection". Sometimes it even says both!

That then plays havoc with my application, occassionally it will dial my
gprs connection when it's in the cradle other times it will use the PC
internet connection.

Can anybody explain what's going on?

They all seem to be configured the same way

Many thanks

Normally the device should attempt to hang up the GPRS connection when
placed in the cradle and any outgoing internet requests will go out via PC
Connection, unless you manually "dial" a specific GPRS connection.
Occasionally we see that the device doesn't release the GPRS connection when
it is placed in the cradle (also HTC Himalaya based devices). One thing to
check is that you have the latest ROM version available for your device. I
don't know whether the issues are with the radio stack, connection manager,
or some combination.

Thanks for the reply Peter, that's very interesting.

I guess it's just something our clients will have to live with.

Regarding dialing a gprs connection, all i do is dial the default with
ConnectionManager
