PC Build need help with Mobo, RAM

R

Rory Deol

I am building a pc for mostly gaming and video editing, and of course
DVD and internet. Also this will in the future be my HiDef video
player. I will be using these parts:

CPU: E6850
PSU: Antec TruePower Trio 650W
Case: Antec P182

What I need help with is the Motherboard and the RAM. Two areas that I
am fairly lacking in knowledge. What are the things I should look for?
Where are some good places to start? I trust the advice I have
received in the past on this forum so if there is a direct suggestion
for these I will certainly consider them as a top possibility. I have
the Hard Drives and Optical Drives. The GPU will be decided after I
see the final specs of the Nvidia G92. By the way anyone know what the
prices will be like? Will they be better than the 8800GTX Ultra in
power? Will they be cheaper?

Well thats all I have. I would really appreciate any help towards
ending my journey of several months towards my first homebuilt PC.
That being said I am not going to be too picky about the parts
considering that I will not be entirely sure why I should pick one
part over the other.

Last build I used an intel board. It wasn't fancy, but I haven't had
any complaints about it either. I'd do it again.

What board was it? Also, do you remember the RAM you used?
