PBM: drag square disappeared in Excel 2000

Hi.

One of our users reported to me that the drag square (on the bottom right
corner of a selection) one uses to repeat/increment the content of a cell
has gone. Has anyone already encountered this problem? What could be the
causes of this strange behaviour? And how can it be solved (preferably other
than reinstalling Office 2000) ?

the drag square (on the bottom right corner of a selection)

AKA "fill handle". Possibly caused by Tools -- Options -- Edit --
Settings -- Allow Cell Drag & Drop unchecked. Have a look.

Tools>Options>Edit. Checkmark in "Allow cell drag and drop".
