Hello everyone,

Is there any way to pause presentation?

And yes - resume it without breaking actions' sequence of current slide and
not being thrown away to the next slide

TIA

You can use the 'S' key to pause an automatic slide show. Another hit on the
'S' key would resume it.

When in slide show mode, press F1 function key to see a list of shortcuts
that are available during slide shows.

When running your slide show, press F1 and you will see the options available to
you. For example, press S and the show will pause. Press it again and it will
start.

Thanks Chirag
But ... no reaction on S key whatsoever (ppt2000 & ppt2002)
Pressing F1 button by itself sorta pauses presentation
pressing OK in displayed list kinda resumes it :-)
Very strange!
It is hard 2 believe that such option is absent in right-click actions
choice...

Hi Sonia,
Thanks
but I ment Pause... as one of the options amongst "right-click actions
choice"... because 'S' key ignores me. So the only workaround is to press
F1 (pause) have a sigaret than come back and press OK -(resume)

What version of PowerPoint are you using? Did you make sure that the box is
checked to display the menu choices?

Please check the following:
1. Select "Slide Show" | "Set Up Show..." menu item.
2. Check that the "Browse at a kiosk (full screen)" is NOT selected.
3. Click OK.

Kiosk slide shows do not respond to any key other than ESCape key. If you
want to continue using Kiosk slide shows and still want to pause the slide
show, you can use the Shortcuts add-in at
http://officeone.mvps.org/ppshortcuts/ppshortcuts.html.

version of PowerPoint ..
ppt2000 on Win2000 Pro
& ppt2002 on XP Pro
Did you make sure that the box is checked ...
That was never the question
I always knew the pop-up box on right click - it alwaysbeen the closest
friend of mine :-)
Just 'S' key doesn't fill my touch. Other keys respond well

Since other keys respond well, my guess about the slide show being set up
for Kiosk goes for a toss.

When you press F1 function key and see the help dialog box, do you see 'S'
key being mentioned for stop/restart slide show? If not 'S' key, which key
do you see mentioned there?

replied in despair: "there is no such key" - real life one from my 20years
