Path looks too long

This path looks like it has some duplicates and entries that are not reallyneeded.
Can it be thinned out?

There isn't a "they" - there is one single duplicate, and yes, it can
be removed.

If you suspect an entry isn't needed, you could try removing it and put
it back if the referenced application doesn't work right. Don't try it
unless you know how to recover.

To answer the question I think is underlying: yes, even if you have
a\b\c in the path, you still do need a\b\c\d added to it, if that's
where something is.

Indeed. (Do you still _use_ Quicktime for anything?) Some of the
applications may no longer use the path - uninstalling and then
reinstalling _might_ clean up a bit, or it might not, as uninstallation
is often a litter-lout.

QuickTime is available as a separate package, or can get installed
as part of iTunes. If you're using neither, then that path element
could be removed.

For that matter, you could evaluate each and every path element, and see
whether they still exist or not.

NO it can not.....

Look at it this way

%SystemRoot%\system32;
%SystemRoot%;
%SystemRoot%\system32\WBEM;
c:\Program Files\ActivIdentity\ActivClient\;
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared\DLLShared\;
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared\10.0\DLLShared\;
C:\WINDOWS\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0;
C:\Program Files\Windows Imaging\;
C:\WINDOWS\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0;
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Netop\;
C:\Program Files\Netop\Vision\XL\;
C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTSystem\

there is 12 paths,
on one line,
that are pause and next;
not one long one path.

12 paths on one line; pause and next; pause and next; pause and next; pause and next; pause and next; pause and next; pause and
next; not one long one path;;;;;;;;
