Need some help I am trying to access my webmail and when I do I get a message
that states Internet Explorer stopped working and then it restarts I just
came from the Geek Squad which told me that I need to see if Miscrosft has a
patch does anyone know if this exists and if so can I get the link.

Thanks

Can't help you with your IE problem. Sorry. But here's some advice when it
comes to relying on someone with computer knowledge. Please avoid the
following:

1) Anyone whose name is "Frank"

2) Anyone who works for Geek Squad or even calls himself a "geek"

3) Anyone who has the title MVP behind his/her name.

Cheers.

Which webmail service are using?

-Michael

If this is the Webmail interface to Exchange Server, your Exchange server
administrator needs to apply an update to the Exchange server to resolve the
issue. If it's not an Exchange server then you should consider contacting
the webmail provider to ask them about compatibility issues. I use several
webmail interfaces and they all work fine with Vista.

I have the same issue with Windows Vista closing when I attempted to send an
e-mail. Why would it be the exchange server if I have no problems with the
same webmail on 2 other computers but issues on my new HP laptop with windows
vista premium? I'm hoping to get it resolved so please advise if you can.

Well I think you are correct I just used my work e-mail (webmail) and replied
with no issues. I think the problem is with my roommates work e-mail through
webmail ok...
Thank you
Misty

Michael not sure what you mean by which webmail it is my company's when I am
on the road, webmail is the only way I can access my e-mails I even asked
tbhe IT guy and he was not familiar with Vista so he could not help me.

After all the problems I am dealing with as fafr as vista I hate it.

Thanks

Misty I too have a HP laptop Windows Vista premium if you resolve your issue
please let me know I have tried everything.

Thanks

You have to be able to connect to the email server. With gmail you have to
set it up specifically to connect to the POP3 server and the SMTP server to
receive and send mail respectively. So you have to ask your IT guy what the
settings are for your email servers. Should be something like

pop.comapnyname.com
smtp.companyname.com

If and only if they use a POP3 type service. If you use something else you
will have to get that info from your IT guy and then setup your email client
accordingly. Windows Mail is the new Outlook Express and is setup just
about the same way. This is not a Vista specific issue as your IT guy has
to give you the information to connect to your companies email server
remotely to send and receive your email.

Have you setup your home PC to receive your work emails or is that what you
are trying to do here?

Alex I can receive e-mails just can not reply or create new ones and I am not
accessing e-mails through Outlook only webmail. Someone mentioned from
another post that the exchange server needs an update what are your thoughts?

Thanks for your help
