pasting

When opening a new document in word, the option for pasting is in very light
grey,so the option just does not work. This also applies if I go into edit
and try to paste. I have gone into tools to make sure the correct things are
checked and they are. It was working fine until about 3 weeks ago. So please
can someone help. Thanks.

The fact that the paste option is grayed out suggests that there is nothing
in the Windows clipboard for Word to paste. What happens if you start Word
first, then copy whatever it is you want to copy, switch to Word, and try to
paste? If this works, but copying before starting Word doesn't, then you
probably have a poorly written Word add-in that is clearing the Windows
clipboard when Word starts. See
