Terry,
Does the text in your text editor look like this?
paragraph 1 paragraph 1 paragraph 1 paragraph 1 paragraph 1 paragraph 1
paragraph 1 paragraph 1 paragraph 1 paragraph 1 paragraph 1 paragraph 1
paragraph 2 paragraph 2 paragraph 2 paragraph 2 paragraph 2 paragraph 2
paragraph 2 paragraph 2 paragraph 2 paragraph 2 paragraph 2
Or like this?
paragraph 1 paragraph 1 paragraph 1 paragraph 1 paragraph 1 paragraph 1
paragraph 1 paragraph 1 paragraph 1 paragraph 1 paragraph 1 paragraph 1
paragraph 2 paragraph 2 paragraph 2 paragraph 2 paragraph 2 paragraph 2
paragraph 2 paragraph 2 paragraph 2 paragraph 2 paragraph 2
Note that in the second example, there's a hard return between the two
paragraphs. If you use the second method, and then you use "Edit | Paste
Special... | Normal Paragraphs" you should get the result you're looking
for.
Unfortunately quite a lot of it is like the former, such as in
numbered or bulleted lists. So I can either put the extra returns into
the original (and then use Edit | Paste Special... | Normal Paragraphs
in FP), or paste it straight in with the slightly quicker (Ctrl+v),
and then replace all those 'soft returns' or whatever they are called
with proper returns.
This evening so far I've opted for the first. With the text pasted
from Word into my text editor, I can make a global replace of a single
return by two returns. Then Edit | Paste Special... | Normal
Paragraphs makes a reasonable job of it in FP. Bullets and headers etc
need work, but that's not too bad.
Still looking for something better though!
Much appreciate your help.
