Pasting Data to Excel from either Access/Web

It has been brought to my attention that there is a bug when attempting to paste data into an Excel spreadsheet (2002) form either Access or from the Web

For example, on a table within a web page, the following information is available

Text 1234.56 1234.56 Tex
-Text 1234.56 1234.56 Tex
Text 1234.56 1234.56 Tex
Text 1234.56 1234.56 Tex
Text 1234.56 1234.56 Tex
Text 1234.56 1234.56 Tex

If this is copied and pasted into an Excel spreadsheet, all of the data folloiwng the -Text (both to the right and to the end) will take on the formatting of TEXT. The problem with this is that the two columns with numbers, need to be interpeted as numbers as oppose to TEXT. It appears that this will occur with any data that is being pasted into the spreadsheet that has a preceding +, -, or = sign

Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any solutions that you know of?

Any help would be appreciated

I don't use Access, but you can convert those Text Numbers to number numbers by
selecting an empty cell and copying it.

Then select the offending range and Edit|Paste special|check Add.

I have a workaround, but it is too time consuming and tedious to have my clients perform such an action. I was hoping that someone may know of a patch or something that would resolve this issue.
