Just installed SP4 on a client's Windows 2000 Pro PC and
when it restarted the passwords are no good. None of the
user's (2) or Administrator's password will work to log
onto the system. How can I reset the Administrator's
password so I can at least get in and retrieve the
client's data?

Thanks,

That is bizarre. The link from the FAQ below offers several options including a link
to a free ISO image you can burn to a cdrom to create a bootable cdrom that can reset
the password for the built in administrator account. You could also add the drive to
another W2K/XP Pro computer as a slave/secondary and copy the data that way if
necessary possibly having to take ownership and granting yourself permissions first.
Do not format the system partition if the owner needs access to EFS encrypted files
without backing up at least the user and administrator profile under documents and
settings first. --- Steve
