Passwords and protection for folders

L

Luna

I want to password protect a few folders on my computer.
However, the security option is not showing up. I went into
folder options (like the help page says), but there is no
Advanced Options tab. its like my windows version is
missing half of the stuff it says its supposed to have.
any ideas.

Basically, I am trying to make it so that certain of my
files can only be accessed on one of the user accounts.
and/or i would like to be able to place a passowrd on these
files (and just these files) so that only I can access
them. Because I would prefer if my roomates did not have
acess to certain files.
Please help.

The "Make this folder private" option requires the NTFS file system.

Hi Luna,
I saw another post in this forum, and it was mentioned that
if you put your folder into a zip file, you can password
protect it,have not tried it,but thought you may want to
know.Hope this helps.
