It would help if you told us what password you forgot, if
it was windows there is a fix, the HOME version of XP
reboot the system and boot up in safe mode, type in
ADMINISTRATOR for the user and leave the password blank,
hit enter and you can change the password for your profile.
If your version of XP is PRO, then you are going to have a
few more steps.
1st go to
http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/
at the bottom of this page you should find a couple of
choices in downloads, 1 being an ISO file which creates a
CD, and the other are diskettes, download either and
create the CD or diskettes.
Let's say you downloaded the CD, once created insert it
into the CD-ROM and reboot, once it starts it is going to
ask you several questions (read them carefully), usually
you will take the defaults, when it asks you if you want
to scan for SCSI devices you will say NO, one of the last
questions will be if you want to change a PASSWORD, read
the messages the syntax for it will be "administrator XXX"
you have just changed the admin password to XXX.
Good Luck
