I want to create a password list. I can do this using MS Word or a
text editor. How would I assign a password to that one file?

Thank you.

For Word: In the Save As window, look for a dropdown list called Tools
(upper right corner) and select Security Options.

For more information about Microsoft Word, visit one of the Word newsgroups,
for instance:

I would suggest that you use a dedicated password program such as
"AnyPassword" FREE (for individual and not-for-profit charitable
entity use) from:-

http://www.anypassword.com/free/index.html

You password protect the file it creates so that you cannot open the
file of passwords without that one password.

You can create folders within the password file to group similar ones.

It can generate strong passwords for you using random numbers and
upper & lower case letters of the length that you ask for.

Perhaps I wasn't clear?

This allows me to assign a password to a single document created in MS Word.
I am writing about documents created in other applications too, such as MS
Notepad and other word processing applications.

I do not want to be "wedded" to an application such as MS Word. MS Word is
fine [in fact I use it to prepare many of my documents] but I like my
freedom to choose.

Thanks,
