when i turn on the computer a screen comes up asking for a password in order to start windows, so my question is; how do you disable this passoerd so i can turn on computer and go directly yo the welcome screen? thanks zip6973

If you are not on a domain, Control Panel> Users Accounts> Change how users
log on and off. Check box to enable Welcome screen. If still no welcome
screen, do you have software such as PC Anywhere installed? This particular
program is one of a few that change some files involved with the log on
process. Their presence can cause the welcome screen not to appear.
